i'm sure it's something with the head unit..check wiring...or get a much better sounding aftermarket radio.

i always test my speakers with a 9v battery. i used to do it when i installed home theater speakers too. just take (-) and (+) and touch to either side of the batter poles. use a jumper to get the connection from the wiring harness if you take out the radio. that way you can tell if itsyour wires somewhere in the truck or your headunit

yeah i was thinking about it being the head unit but i dont see how that could really be the problem if the other speaker is working, but i am going to take the door panel off and get the wiring harness and see what the deal is. how much of a pain is it to get the harness out from the door and in the cab to work on it or rewire truck? anyone done it?

i never tried but always wanted to. i think its a huge pain if you ask me. i dont think the wires could have gone bad, i would look into the headunit being bad..i have a pioneer headunit here if you want it. just send me your address and ill let you know how much shipping will be.

I'd find someone with a ford stereo and pull yours out and try the other one and see if it works. Then you would know if its the head unit or the wiring. It only takes a minute to pull it out if you have the release tool [$5 at Walmart].

it IS the head unit....get an after market radio and install it and i bet you your problems will be solved....as for the big hole..either get a DIN radio with a dash kit..perfect for my phone and radio remote....or get a double din and trim the dash a little...i currently have the din with the kit and a 7 in LCD monitor that slides out.

sorry for my english
get a votimeter and check for continuity in the speaker wiring cables, the are two version of wiring cables on the literature but if you give me your VIN i can tell exactly what color are the wires for your speaker.

the other way its like a destructive test but working.. :P

Near the stereo harness, connect the driver speaker with the wires of the passenger speaker (that you know its in working condition) and see what happens or connect the driver speaker instead of passenger speaker. Be careful when you remove the door mounts.
