Does this one beep when you start it? Is the install too hard?

PowerStrokeHD - I'm confused. With the series 100 kit I installed, is my alarm turned off while in extended remote start? What does this kit give me exactly? More importantly, what components would I need to buy to make my 100 a 200 series. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Functionality of the existing security features are not affected by the installation of either the 100 or 200 systems. Everything works together as a happy family...

What the 200 system adds over the 100 is the security/alarm features. This would be the addition of the shock sensor, a additional indicator LED and a alarm (uses the horn) that would actually sound if say someone decides to break into your truck using the most common screw driver under the door handle trick.

Unfortunately at this time I am not seeing anyway to upgrade your 100 to a 200. This is all new though and the info is just starting to trickle out...

If it provides additonal security features along with a longer range remote start over the standard remote start that comes with the truck then I'd be interested. Any idea where I can order one? I've checked the usual online parts vendors, but have had no luck in finding anything with that listed part number. The Ford accessories website doesn't list the series 200 unit yet either.

No sign of that part number or any Series 200 remote at the Ford Accessories Online Store!?

Where can I learn more?

Thanks

Check with the Ford guy who checks in here (PartsGuyEd). I bought the original series 100 extended remote kit from him. I am looking through the part listing for the series 200 to see if I can buy just the components to make my 100 into a 200. I like the idea of a shock sensor and the LED. From what I can tell thus far, I will need the shock sensor, the LED kit and the controil module. I already have the extended range antennae, the factory remote antennae and the small parts.

Easiest would be to contact a Ford parts department to see if it is even in the system yet for ordering...

Just heard back from Partsguyed. He doesn't have this unit in stock, and he didn't mention whether or not it was in the catalog either. He did mention that the series 100 units were on special.

It isn't a valid part number based on a call to my local dealer. Where did you get this information PowerStrokeHD?

Will do. Waiting for it to show up in the system to see if I can order just the "upgraded" components.

Did you ever get yours to work?

I'm not surprised he has the 100 series on sale. With the added capabilities of the 200 series who will want them? PowerStrokeHD has always been extremely accurate on his information. Either the dealers haven't kept updated or they are pushing the 100 series to move stock.

I have the factory remote start unit on my truck. On a normal day, it will reach 150-200 feet. I have never tested the range to see how far away it will work. I'm just saying normal everyday Walmart parking lot, baseball game parking lot, type of use. You can adjust the length of run time in 5 minute increments up to 15 minutes. I use the 15 in the winter and 10 in the summer.
