Speedometer question once again

Hello folks I have a few questions.
1-Is the 1948 speedometer cable for an f1 the same for a 1948 ford car????
2-is the 1948 f1 speedo cable the same as a 1951 f1 speedo cable???.
If these two questions are YES,I will have an easy fix to my speedometer problem according to some folks.
Thanks.
Seth.

I believe that speedo cables are fairly generic. Q2 answer is yes for sure.

Installed my speedometer cable today.I had to cut the cable like the instructions said.
Before I installed it,I but the drill at the tranny end of the cable and it worked but once I installed it on the tranny It only tells me how many miles I traveled.
Have I cut the square end on the speedometer too short ant suggestions

If it's fast, a speedometer gear with one more tooth should put it right on...one less tooth if it's slow.
