2011 Supernationals Saturday Lunch Get-Together
This thread is being started to gauge interest in a lunch "meet-and-greet" for Saturday, May 14th, at the Supernationals in Pigeon Forge. Saturday is the only day that I'll be attending, so if it is decided to do this on a different day, that's OK with me. We'll need to agree on a time and location to meet(preferably where there's food so that stragglers will end up at the "right place"). I'd prefer about 1:00 to give me (and others) time to get there. Lance Hogan (and I assume his father too?) has already indicated an interest, but I'll let him reply below.

Wow!! If it is only two of us, I would suggest us swapping cell phone numbers and you can give me a call when you get into town.
I know Tacson will be selling a few things in the swap meet area on Saturday. I am sure he will be tied to that area, but we should go over to visit him (if he isn't too busy).
Let me know what you think.

I might be there. Trying to work things out with my schedule. I'd love to bring my 49. I just don't know. It's about 160 miles for me. And I don't know whether or not I should trust that old flathead to get me there on all the backroads. I'd be coming down through Tazwell, TN--Morristown--etc. The interstate is obviously out of the question. I might just trailer it. Forgive my stupid question--do a lot of people bring their daily drivers just to hang out? My truck is not even in the same galaxy as a show truck. Or should I hold off until the F-100 show in June or that one in Townsend after that?

Mountaindoc,
Don't worry about bringing your truck on a trailer. There will be a lot of trucks (100+) that will be hauled in on a trailer. The reason a lot of people do so is because of the distance. For me, the trip is right at 500 miles. Last year, I had a brand new motor (less than 50 miles on it) and I trailered mine. No one said a thing about it.
This year will be the first time for me to drive. I have spent the last week going over the truck from front to back making sure I am ready.
If you drive or trailer, just come and have fun!

meet/greet/lunch sounds good to me... depending where we are on Saturday... but far as I know we (wife and I) can attend... Old Mill has good food and set up for large groups, but several local restaurants can do it as well...
walking distance would work better for lots of folks that are paying for parking and don't want to drive too far or at all !

I'm planning to head there either Thursday or Friday, just for the day. I know Saturday is a good day, but it will also be the biggest crowd. Trying to find a place close by at lunch time on Saturday may be a way bigger challenge than you think. If Tacson is gonna be set up at the swap meet, that may be a better place to meet up.
