i was amazed at how much wild turkey tastes different than store bought

also we are curing the fan and the beard to hang it next to my elk antlers..

and if you do hunt one the easiest way to pluck them is to dunk the bird in boiling water for 30 seconds..we plucked it in less than 5 min

When aiming at a turkey, where do you try to hit it? (or any bird game bird for that matter)

well we did a head shot becuase we didnt want to damage the meat..but most hunters do body shots..

Cool... as you can tell, I'm not a hunter. My dad quit hunting about the time I was old enough, maybe my early shooting skills made him think it was best to give it up. lol

I've thought about trying pheasant hunting some day since I live in a great place for it.

I enjoyed Elk and deer hunting in Wyoming, mainly hunting up in the mountains. Not much Elk in Nebraska, out this way anyway.
