Clutch inspection tips?

Are there any measurements I can take with the inpection cover removed to determine the conditon of the clutch disc?

Is it giving you problems? I've always just replaced mine when they started to slip.

Just planning ahead. Thought maybe I could measure the material on the clutch disc and compare it to a new one? My truck has 162K and I am not sure how many miles are on the clutch and pressure plate.

I'm sure there is some tool or gauge you could check with.

If you had a brake checker gauge tool thing, that would work.

But the only true way to tell is to pull it off and look at the PP and flywheel to see if there is skipping or hopping on the disks, or how far the clutch material is worn and if its to the rivets yet.
