I've been looking for hors and can't find anything on the differences between them and regular F150's. Aside from the engine and transmission, I mean. I also can't find anything aftermarket regarding the suspension for 80-96 trucks. Does the lighting have a different TTB than regular trucks? And how are all these people dropping these trucks, when I can't find anything online or in magazines for full size TTBs for lowering trucks. I've only seen some for Rangers/Explorers. I've barelly found anything for 2wd pre-runners.
The only difference is:
351w in the F-150
4.10/4.11 rear gears
Sway bars front and back
Bucket seats
Other than that, they use the E4OD tranny, and everything else is basically the same....
You can get a lowering kit from Eibach, DJM, Belltech, etc....
Lowering shocks, tranny shift kit, and if you REALLY wanna drop $$$, www.Fastfordfiberglass.com sells fiberglass hoods, rollpans, front bumpers, fenders, cowls, and tailgates.....

If you can't find anything listed , i would call DJM or belltech , theres a few guys in the 87-96 forum that have lowered them , they should be able to help you , the suspension and springs on the lightnings are not the same as the standard 150s , i think the frame is thicker to , motor wise its a 351w with gt 40 heads and intake , they have a flat tappet cam instead of a roller and are SD.....Lew

Not exactly..
OP: To lower a Lightning would be the same as an F150. Drop I beams in front and shackle and hanger in rear/flip kit. Just know that the Lightnings come from the factory lowered 1" in front(Springs) and 2.5" in back(leaf springs).
Thanks, I can't ever find anything on TTB trucks. I used to see ad's in magazines and online but mostly for prerunner/offroad i beams. I read somewhere thy also had increased steering ratios. Are they're sway's bigger than f250s?
I-Beams-$599 3"
Drop Shackles and Hangers-$259 4"
Axle flip kit-4-5"
Lowering coils-2"
Lightning Coils-1"
Those measurements are going from a factory truck, and adding them....The coils/beams will give you 5" of static drop...and the flip kit, and lowering shackle, etc will give you 7-9" of drop...
With the flip kit, you'll need to do some C-Notch work...

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I'm trying to kinda recreate the Lightning Bronco. and it seems as though an axle over setup wouldn't work. I'd need to keep it axle under and do a small C-notch, probably loose a few leaves.
