Well I touched up the clear coat on the truck early today before the rain so I hope that helps protect the paint some

Granted the touch up pen, is not the same colour of the truck but the clear coat part is still usable, I got the G2 colour which is for the stang so I been touching it up through out the day trying to make the stang look a bit better then how I bought it!!

Well spent Friday fixing the truck, got new ball joints, and replaced the tie rods and fixed the exhaust leak, so all that is left is to get an alignment for it.

went to the parts house (where I now have a job at...YAY) and purchased the thermostat and the housing, had to order the gasket off the website so im waiting for delivery of it...

excited to get that all fixed up though, figured even if the housing and gasket are still good might as well replace them while its all coming off, so at least I know it will last a good while longer!!!

Congrats on the job! Good to hear you're still fixing the truck up too.

What was the issue that caused you to change the thermostat?

Gotcha. You installed a 195 degree thermostat, right?

Mine leaked a little, turns out the thermostat outlet had a hairline crack in it that I missed. But you replaced your outlet right?

Nope, just the one gasket! I've found that lightly brushing on some RTV works pretty well on most gaskets. Helps hold them in place, and seal up any minor imperfections.

next will be a $190 purchase for a new alternator and serp belt!! (fun) I know its just three bolts to pull the old and then disconnect the connector(s) and then put the new on, but I suspect I will have to go through 50 other things, but as long as its just remove the tentioner pully and belt then the alt and reverse the steps I suppose all is god right?

Make sure you are pulling the paper off the thermostat gasket. I was a dummy and left mine on and it leaked. Pulled it off and dad showed me my problem. Pulled the paper off the new gasket and no leaks.
