Decided to stretch her leg's...

No not that!

Did a 0-60 on the truck. Was kinda curious what it'd do.

Basic info:
- 216k on motor
- 30k on trans
- 4.10 gears
- B&M shift kit (stage 2)
- SoupBowl Mod
- Fresh BB code injector's

YouTube - 1992 Ford F-250 diesel 0-60

Not bad for a 19 year old 6000lbs truck.

Stage 2 is better! I recently just found out I had bout 3 quarts too much fluid in the trans. So I e-vac'ed it out and it shifts much better now, not as aggressive as before.

Also, being I have the 4.10's I cruise on the hwy at about 63ish mph (right around 2k rpm). I just usually stick to the right lane and watch people fly by. On the last fill-up, I got 19mpg. I'm happy with that.

Um, I think it helps. The converter locks up sooner I've noticed.

Dave, it shifts WAY better then stock. I couldn't be happier.

It shifts pretty much like a stock C6, witch is great! She'll last alot longer now!

I noticed the other day that I have a transmission cooler - thats good.

Whats the difference between stage 2 and stage 1 shift kits?? Which one will take towing better?

Shift Improver Kit -
Stage 2 uses stiffer springs, so the WOT shift is quicker. FORDF250HDXLT has the Stage 1 on his truck, and I used the Stage 2.

On the box is says:
Stage 1 -RV/Towing
Stage 2 - Street/Strip

Being a hot-rod kinda guy, I did Stage 2 for the hell of it. I like it, the shifts are firm and very direct. I've towed my trailer/car (~5000lbs) with it and it performed great.

Stock the truck's have a factory cooler that runs though the rad, which is ok but not close to being the best. I run this:

Tru-Cool MAX transmission cooler with external thermal bypass | Tru Cool Heavy Duty | Bulkpart transmission parts

Thing is massive, and cools the trans amazingly. I know of a lot of guys that run this cooler and couldn't be happier. My trans never see's more then 180 degree's.

My cooler isnt factory, me and my mechanic buddy replaced it after the tranny swap. I wasnt there when he acctually switched the cooler so i wasnt sure what it was. It just came to me recently that it was a cooler, lol. I'll get a pic, i never see my tranny over 180 either.

I like firm shifts too, does the truck jerk or anything when it shifts?

with just stage 1 and WOT up the hills with a good jag of wood or chips, you know it lol.
otherwise its like the trans says "your going to know for sure when i hit the next gear" type of shift.firm and quick but no slamming.
towing under WOT up hill,it's pretty aggressive really.which is good though.
im kinda surprised with Mikes report of not getting any slamming under WOT while towing 5k with stage 2,cus stage 1 seems to be plenty lol.

as would i!
i'll have to get my new ip in, this weekend.id like to see if i can get 15-16 average with my setup.i keep noticing as the weather warms up,my economy seems to be raising as well........thank god!
i'll have to try unhooking my cowl induction next winter and let her draw in warm air under the hood to see if that helps.mostly it's just the cut fuel im sure.but man,too pricey not to try stuff.

Lol, I think I'll go with a stage 1 then, the diesel is loud enough for the neighbors, it doesn't need to be followed by slams, hahaha.
