76 f100 rear end?
I didnt see anything about 76 F100 Rear ends in the article that was done on replacing rear ends, does anyone know if this is a 9 inch and will fit under my 56? 1976 Ford F-100 390 CID FE V8 Relisted | Trucks for sale on Lejeune bookoo! Here is the article for the truck. Thanks in advance.

1973: F100 (1975: F150) and most F250/350's: Ford increased the rear frame rail width (behind the cab) to 37 1/2 inches.
1972 and back: 33 1/2 inches.
Some 9's installed in 1973/79's have 28 spline axleshafts, some have 31 spline axleshafts as it depended on the applications, and...
If a 1977/79, do not assume the truck has a 9 inch.
After the first Arab Oil Embargo ended in 1974, it wasn't too long after...that Ford installed Dana 44 rear axles in some of these trucks w/2.75 & 3.00 ratios in an effort to improve gas mileage.
