2003 Expedition brakes are sticking while driving. Help!!

Front left brake caliper is sticking while driving causing burnig smell from rotor. I changed the pads, all the hardware, bled the lines, and greased the pins. Im stuck and dont know what to do. Was going to try and rebuild the caliper but want to make sure its not a brake line. Any suggestions would be great because I'm a novice when it comes to brakes.

Replace the caliper with a new/rebuilt one.

You can try a rebuild kit, but I find that for the time it takes to clean everything up and install the new seals I'd rather just buy a reman one as they're not that expensive.

To test if it's caliper or brake line. Jack up wheel, apply brakes, release brakes. Try to turn tire. Get a feel for the turning resistance. Open bleeder on caliper to bleed off pressure. If the tire turns easier I would suspect brake line. If it seems the same I would go for the caliper. A bad brake line would cause the problem by holding the pressure on the caliper and causing the brake pads to drag.

I would not suspect it's the brake hose. I'm a dealer mechanic and generally problems with brake hoses cause soft brake pedal or brake pull due to the hose becoming weak and unable to hold pressure.

It's my experience that a stuck caliper will cause your concern 9.5 times out of 10.

I'm no old timer but have been doing this job 10 years now and have never seen a collapsed brake hose. I've heard of it and learned about it but never have I seen it. If contaminated brake fluid were to be the cause I would expect more than one wheel to have issues.

Just put a new caliper on it.
