That is interesting. Can someone then look at the date of manufacture on their truck and assume that if it is after 10/10/10 that it is at least Job 2? Also, it is not clear to me on what difference this makes.

When Ford makes what they consider to be a significant change in a Job 1 (first run) vehicle, they call the vehicles manufactured after the change(s) Job 2. My understanding was that Ford changed a rear frame crossmember to increase the tow rating on Super Dutys and those trucks are called Job 3. The hitch on those trucks is supposed to have a 2.5" hitch with a reducer insert to 2".
I could be wrong.... it happens!
The VIN on the truck I'm looking at includes a 'C' prefix prior to the unit number so I was wondering if that has anything to do with the Job number. Does anyone know where to get the Super Duty VIN 'decoder'?

I have BEC in my VIN so I guess I have a Job 3 truck. I have seen a Job 3, it does exist.... I still am wondering if it is good or not....

Only Job 1 and Job 2 for MY11. No Job 3. Job 2 is 11/01/10 - current. Ford made a number of running changes this model year that were more substantial then usual, so that likely made things a little confusing...
Job number can not be determined by the VIN. The letter preceding the last 5 of the VIN allows them to have more then 99,999 VIN's. They will issue A00001 to A99999 then move on to B00001 and so on...
From what I can tell the hitch changes (i.e. including the 2.5" to 2" reducer) affects those units built on or after 02/07/11. This was a Job 2 running change...
