Question Hands are too Big!

How much of my truck do I have to take apart to replace the headlight bulb (driver side) on my 99 F-150, I can`t get my hands in there!
Whats the best replacement bulb nowadays ?

what year is your truck? if it is like mine (built before july 1996) then the headlight and corner light are on the same bracket and there are two pull tabs that you can pull up and out and thw whole thing slides out the front of the grill and then you can change the bulbs quite easily. if your truck was built after july 96 then it is slightly different, the head lights still remove by pull tabs, but i believe the corners are bolted in, and you have to remove the heads first.

the pull tabs that you are looking for are level with the plastic that covers the top of the radiator, and is a piece of sheet metal with a rubber coating over it. pull it up ( you may need pliers) and the whole thing should come out and be about 6 inches long (give or take) this whole thing slides in some groves in the header panel that is behind the grill, and the back of the headlight housing. If you still cant find it, let me know and i will go take some pictures.

As to the headlights, i personally like the sylvania silverstars. i replaced my heads and my fogs with these and i love them. They are more white than the factory bulbs which i like since i do lots of night drivng.

just pull up the 2 big tabs ad the whole headlight assembly slides right out. As for what bulbs to use I use these, they are pure white light.
