crew cab window issues

Hi everyone I'm new to this site so I hope this is in the correct spot. I have a 97 F250 crew cab. The rear windows were very slow going up and down until i heard a pop and then nothing. I ordered new ones from Ford installed the new ones and same thing "slow" works great going down but you need to help it up. With the motor off the regulator works freely and the window goes up and down fine by hand with no binds. Any ideas? I don't think a relay could be causing this could it? I have a friend with the exact same truck and his rear windows are the same, i thought the motor would be a slam dunk... Thanks

what parts did you order in? Possible that the motors are getting weak, could also be the plugs inside the gear assembly on the motor

my left rear window binds if i put it all the way down. I have to pull up and back to help it, i don't know if its a track/ regulator issue that it lets it fall forward too far or if its due to the weatherstripping binding. Does yours go up ok if its down halfway?

It goes down fine it just don't go up. It goes up just super slow. My buddy has the same problem with his truck, same year. If you disconnect the motor it dosent seem to be binding at all.

I just finished rebuilding all the window assemblies on my 94 crewcab, and I can tell you it doesn't much to bind the motor up. Start with cleaning and regreasing the gear assembly (probably wouldn't hurt to change out the little plugs in there either, Autozone, Advance, etc all have them in the HELP section), clean and regrease the track on the bottom of the window that the regulator arm slides in. Just barely loosen the left and right outer track bolts on the door. Now run the window up and down a couple times to center the tracks. Re-tighten the bolts and you should be good to go.

At the end of the window regulator arm is a window roller....it fits into the channel the glass attaches to. If the roller is defective, several things can occur.

1) If the roller breaks, the window falls down into the door.

2) If the roller is worn, the window binds up.

The bad news is: Beginning in 1992, the roller is only available with the window regulator.

postmortum: Welcome to FTE

FYI: FTE has a Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor that gives discounts from the actual MSRP (some dealers "jack up" the MSRP).

What did you pay for those window motors you bought from a local Ford Dealer?

F6TZ-35233V94-AARM Left & F6TZ-35233V95-AARM Rght .. 1994/97 F350 Crew Cab Rear Power Window Motors.

MSRP each: $87.80 // FTE sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price each: $63.22.

The nylon bushing seems to be good on the regulator arm. I did clean the track and relubed it, I a work at a body shop and we get a pretty good deal on parts,i paid $56.00 for the motors.
