I did not actually drop the trailer by itself on the scale, but the second set of numbers should be right. 7160 on the wheels and 1520 on the tongue including the hitch. Now that I have thought about the numbers, it does seem to add up. I had it in my head the advertised dry weight was 1050, but it's actually 1150. Add in propane, 100lbs of batteries right on the nose, plus the 150 lbs of various "essentials" in the pass through compartment, as well as the hitch itself and we are there. It's a rear kitchen, but my wife packs fairly light so not much offset in the rear. I also had 35+ gallons of water which is just forward of the axles.
Easiest way to move a significant weight would be to mount the batteries on the rear bumper. Probably something I will tackle next winter. Should be easy to do, the converter is on the back wall. I don't think my wife wants bottle jacks and tools in the kitchen cabinets in the rear of the trailer.

Finally got to take the ex on its maiden voyage towing the camper. I was really impressed with how it pulled over Vail Pass. Also I love the 08+ towing mirrors. Great visibility! You can see the old tow rig in the back of the first pic. I also put in two golf cart batteries wired in series this week before the trip and installed a kill switch.

You will love it! Before installing take the bearings out and clean and grease them. We are here if you need help installing it or setting it up. I have learned a couple of tricks to make it easier.

So, we had a plan to go to King Mountain which is north of Sutton, AK. Anyhow plans fell through and I decided to take the trailer out to Wasilla to see my friends who bought my old Ex's, we camped in the driveway haha
Towed well, last summer I only pulled the trailer with my F-150 so I had to remember the Excursion doesn't have the power of the pickup does, otherwise it pulls good. This was the first pull since putting the new springs in.
The glasspack makes towing much more enjoyable then the straight pipe did.

Went and got Ice cream this afternoon at one of the best soft serve places in the state.
They has their pool up already, I hopped in and it was a little chilly, but I got used to it. I got some serious sun burn today too

I have one myself and love it, I am getting ready to order airbags this week. Only issue is with that honking hitch head, it kills ground clearance on a 2wd

That it does, the airbags help with that plus I found that some campers are lower than others. My Puma sat a little lower than the Surveyor does.
