Is that rust on the windshield header below the drip rail coming through from the inside? If so, that could foretell future problems in other parts of your cab. Replacing the roof skin does not address this, and is probably why your dad planned to whack it at the posts. Lets talk about your other donor cab. What are the problems with it? Take dents over rust any day.
