2011 regular cab to bed pass-through ?
Hi- just got my 2011 regular cab gas Fx4 and I'm loving it!
I want to wire up some accessories in the bed- lights for loading cargo, etc. I heard there are some grommets or small panels that can be used to pass wiring or whatnot from the cab to the bed- has anyone done this? I haven't gone out and started pulling up carpet behind the seats yet. Also, what are those two rounded rectangular things on the upright part of the front end of the bed?
I searched the forum but didn't really see and answer. I figure truck builders must have a convenient way to run wiring from the cab to the bed without going through the engine bay, underneath, along the rails, etc.
Thanks

Those large plastic things on the back of the cab are indeed the cab vents. The ones in the bed are typically used for running wiring for slide in campers. If you do run wires through them, don't pull the plugs out. Supposedly they break and won't got back in properly.
Your best bet is to run the wiring through the firewall, down to the frame rail, back to the bed and up through that hole. You could run it in the cab under the carpet and drill a hole in the floor near the back, but thats a lot of work too.

I crawled under my truck real quick, didn't have a good light but it looked like there was one around the passenger seat, waiting for it to dry so i can get another look, trying to put an inverter in the truck.
