Not sure, but there's a possibility your water heater might have a provision to screw in or attach an electric element. (I am assuming that both gas and electric water heaters are constructed with the same tank configurations to adapt either way). If there is a removeable plug or plate in it mounted low, you could purchase a water heater element at the hardware store and wire it into 110v.
