Tools needed for 4R100 Rebuild

I am about to tackle a 4R100 rebuild out of a 99 F-350. I am no transmission tech, but I believe I have skills enough to do this. I purchased the ATSG manual for the rebuild, and seems clear enough, but I am overwhelmed at the amount of special tools it says are needed. Can anyone fill me in on what must be obtained for a rebuild, and any suggestions on where to get them. Looking at some of the prices on the internet for these tools is disheartening.

Thanks

Here is a good write-up on an E4OD, which is very similar. You will not need ALL of the recommended tools, but if you do not have any transmission specific special tools, you will need to buy some of them. Lip seal protectors are NECESSARY. Clutch pack spring depression tools are required. A good set of snap ring tools are needed. A good set of metal picks are needed to remove orings and seals. You may need a seal driver set to install worn bushings. Take a look at the write-up here and go from there.
