Verify this please- lower ball joints

As I understand it, the
Moog - Ball Joint

Part # : K8695T006
Line: MOOG
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • Front Suspension
  • Lower
  • Problem Solver
  • Oversized Ball Joint
  • Fits Control Arm With 1.749 Inch To 1.753 Inch I.D.
  • Quantity Per Vehicle: 2
Should fitcorrectly in the factory lower control arm of a 99 2wd F150 right?

Thanks.

Not sure about the part number, but I got my Moog one from the Oriely's and they fit up (I have a 2004 Heritage, but uppers and lowers...upper all part of the control arm assembly, lowers are just the *****). Rent the ball joint press. I pounded on the lowers for hours and then finally got the press and it took all of 10 minutes. Grease them well and often and there will be little wear. No noise out of mine and I have 70k on them.

I agree save time and get a press. Pounded on mine for hours and finally got them to go. If you dont got a press you can grind a little around the top of the ball joint to help get them started.

It says that it's a "problem solver" ball joint and that it's oversized.
If the hole that the joint fits into is in good shape I don't think you need anything other than the normal replacement part.
I've never seen a "problem solver" ball joint so I'm not sure if there's any other difference.

oversized ball joint for factory control arms

Appreciate your reponse. Based on what OReillys said, the normal sized ones fall right through the factory control arm ball joint hole. This is supposed to "solve" that "problem". The regular sized ones are for when you replace the lower control arm with an aftermarket one.

Doing both lowers tonight so will let you know.

Thanks all, Dan

UPDATE

The oversized ones were too big to fit into the lower control arm ball joint holes. I ended up swapping them out for the non oversized joints. Only got one side done last night. Hopefully the other side will get knocked out tonight.

An old aircraft install tip, when assembling close fitting machined parts, some times an
overnight stay in the freezer will aid in assembly/ or a quicker way if you have access
to liquid nitrogen for (20) minutes before assembly.Did not say you have to do this, but it maybe useful to some!

For first or second BJ replacement, use regular BJ. Most of us fall in that category.

I finished the one side an hour or so before the big storm hit. Lost power for 2 days. I still have not replaced the other joint. Looks like this Sat it'll get done.
