Need Help on removing 08 Expedition Dash
Hey guys, I just purchased a 2008 Expedition Limited EL and I have some damage to the paint on the right silver panel just off of the center. I am in the processing of removing the dash and have moved out the seats, center console, and all the screws that we could find.
I have access to another dash.
Does anyone have a how to remove the dash?
there are two screws that are facing toward the engine bay that I can't reach due to the metal dash support which is tach welded, which i figured out after I removed the bolts.
The previous owner seem to have some kind of chemical leak where the silver paint was removed. The damage goes all the way down to the floor from the cigarette lighter.
I have tried all search methods and have not found anything. Please HELP!!!!.
A how to would be greatly appreciated.

if it is the same as an 06. there are hex head screws up in the top of you instrument cluster (I think 8mm, but can't remember. You pull those two screws, then tilt the wheel all the way down, turn key on and drop tranny in to low (make sure parking brake is applied and if you have column shift) and it will all pull straight out towards you. Every where there is a switch or display - there will be a molex plug to disconnect. Please do this at your own risk - like I said, mine is an 06 and the dash may be different. Hope this helps, Mike

I had a 2007 Expedition EL Limited. We sold it years ago.
I have no memory of how or where I got it, but I still have the DVD set of shop manuals. I just printed (to PDF) this which shows the steps for the instrument panel.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE SHOP MANUAL FOR THE 2007 STATES YOU MUST DISCONNECT THE SRS (AIRBAGS) AS THEY COULD DEPLOY POSSIBLY INJURING YOU!

(You will see a big red warning page. Just continue. The file is a PDF. Scan it with your anti-virus of choice if you like prior to opening.)

Thank you. We found the actuator that we were looking for. It is just a pain to get it out.

After many hours facing the same problem I found the solution for OP.
There are 3 bolts on either side of the dash facing the wrong way and no apparent way to get to them. That's because you are not supposed to. You have to remove the dash and the crash bar together as one unit.
The crash bar is held in by the 2 13m bolts on either side by the door, and then there are 2 more on top of the dash by the windshield on the right side, and 3 on the left side. After removing all 9 of these 13mm bolts the dash and crashbar will come forward if you didnt miss and of the tiny 7mm dashbolts (the top ones by the windshield as well).
Then don't forget yet more 8mm bolts on either of the bottom sides of the center console so it will move toward you freely.
Hope this helps anyone in the future. Ford are real pieces of **** for this dash its by far the ****tiest one I've removed thus far lol.
