Cigarette lighter wiring question.

Cigarette lighter wiring question.
'74 highboy and I was looking at why my cigarette lighter wasnt working. Well, after further inspection someone cut the wire. Does anybody know where it plugs into or where it ties into. I want it to use for my radio because I know it is a constant "hot" lead.

There should be a 3-connector pigtail hanging behind the glovebox. The cigarette lighter should plug into one of these spots.
The wiring for the pigtail itself is GREEN with a YELLOW stripe. GREEN with a YELLOW stripe is hot-at-all-times power for the courtesy lamp circuit. I use this for the constant power to my radio as well.

I saw the wire your talking about, however, I didn't see the pigtail your talking about. I saw an empty single pigtail with the green and yellow wire and another green wire. The cigarette lighter wire is solid black and routed over to the drivers side area over the steering column (factory style).

A little Funny , In my bushiness (Industrial controls) A Green/Yellow wire is GND. I wish wire colors where the same across the board.

Green/Yellow should be the cigarette lighter wire color. It ties into the circuit with the glove box switch and lamp, door jamb switches, and dome lamp...which run through the green/yellow wire at the headlamp switch. All are powered from the green/yellow wire coming from the 15a fuse in the fuse panel.
