1st make sure they know how to check flathead motors and know where to look when they magnafux the block for cracks. 2nd that they are setup to machine the flathead block and have done some before. The 8BA came in your truck. Soe places to order a catalog from for parts is Reds, Flathead Jacks, Nappa also has some parts Sacramento Vintage Ford also Dennis Carpenter, LMC and Speedway. Hope tha this will help you. In my pic on my profile has some of my rebuild.

I have almost 2000.00 into my block and cam work that i new pistons rings wrist pin bearings crank turned. Line bore of the block crank bearings cam bearings new valve seats and bored 40 over. Also had the blocked drilled for full oil filtering so that the oil comes out the pump to the filter then to the block

Since I can't see it in my magic mirror, I'll just have to trust the old guy who has lots of experience with flatheads to make that decision for you.

Smart a** answer aside, without knowing what's worn and how much inside the engine, none of us here can answer your question honestly.

I'm not looking for the cure all but u guys rock. I have no lips on my piston walls. There was new oil in it. The rad was drained. And it sat for 45 years. Crank looks great. All connecting rods r straight. A couple of valves are stuck open. I love this site u guys rock. I know I'm asking the impossible question. I'm just scared to do the wrong thing.

Thanks u guys and gals for ur opinions
