Can I use any parts for my 1950 F1?
Hi Guys,
I've got a 1950 F1 that I'm trying to get back together - Some of our needs are a steering column/wheel, a bench seat, & a dash (as our existing dash has really been hacked on by P.O.).
This ad popped up on Craigslist & I was wondering if I could
use the seat, steering wheel/column, & seat in my 1950 project?
Thx

The steering column is part of the steering box, and those would be totally different in the 57 from what you need in your 50. It would not interchange. The seat also would likely be too big to fit right. I'd recommend being patient and holding out for the right stuff, if you're looking for stock pieces.

Thanks Guys - that's what I was afraid you'd say. Man for $100 I'd really like to get some parts that would work off of this - just too many differences from 1950 vs. 1957. (I will PM you about the 1950 seat - I've got some Ranger seats to go in mine - I just don't like the look - they stick up in the rear window & just don't look right - They look out of place).
My truck is not stock but I'd like the cab to look "old" - the drivetrain & suspension are modern but I'd like the touch & feel things in the cab to be 1950ish in appearance if possible.

Thanks Vern - I like your Ranger seat - it doesn't look anything like the one I have - Mine is velour covered & has built in headrests & a middle seat that folds down with (1) cupholder. I really don't like the look -
Do you happen to know what span of years Ranger seat were your style?
It's like a needle in a haystack looking for a specific year.

(Thanks MTflat - I was hoping I could use parts from this truck because it's available & it's cheap. The dash I've got looks pretty bad - the "repair" of the old radio hole is especially dreadful....)
