hid headlights

I would have to disagree. I have an 88 f150 stock headlight housing with the hid kit and halos. I can see much farther and they are as easy as halogen bulbs to aim. Plus its perfectly legal in Missouri. Passes inspection and never been pulled over.

Doesn't change the fact that your HID's are blinding other drivers on the road...

With the clear lens headlights, yes I agree with you entirley. But, using the stock headlight housing it scatters the beam making it less blinding. But I do agree when someone has the clear lenses and 10k hid's they do blind you know matter how low or high your vehicle sits.

Lol wow. Had to come back for this thread from the dead.

Fluted lens make plug and play hids even worse. Causes even MORE glare.

You either do a projector retrofit like I've done or you keep your halogen bulbs. Period.

The stock diffused is just as bad because of the fact that the lens scatters the beam. Halogen are designed to emit light in a more scattered pattern to help illuminate road signs and such. This is okay with a halogen bulb because the output is much less than an HID. When you install a HID bulb into said housing you get the same effect, but at a MUCH more intense level. This is why almost all factory HID systems use a projector rather than a reflector. The ones that don't have special shields around the bulb to direct light only onto certain parts of the reflector, which is also specially designed for the HID's output.

I would love to put actual projector or spyder headlights in my truck. But, I can't find any websites that makes the whole headlight housing for an 88 f150 without or without the chrome trim. That's why I installed the hid. You would have to see my headlights for yourself to understand what I'm trying to tell you. Their not nearly as bad as what you think. Unless its 10k and up.

Ok Ok your opinion is your opinion. But, instead of arguing about hid headlights, would anyone know of any website where I can find aftermarket headlight housing for an 88 without trim?

I saw when you did that. The way you did it is probably the best way it could have been done.

They turned out great
