Been havin a slight blinking issue with my headlights, but it was only once in a great while......Now its constant....I cleaned my grounds, the one where the starter relay grounds to, and the one near the D/S headlight....Is there another that I may have missed?

Untill I get the issue resolved, I can't drive after dark...

As in, the lights are turning on and off intermittently? Id go for the switch.

 

A new headlight switch will go a long way on fixing this,,

You see there is a circuit breaker in a headlight switch, and they get old, the contacts in the switch get old and have more resistance that builds HEAT, that heat is making your circuit breaker go on and off....

 

Imagine a "Special" kid playing with the headlight switch....or a set of LED's in a blinker socket.....They're blinking like a zillion times a minute...

I would. Check the harness ware it plugs in the the harness that comes out of the cab. If its lose road vibrations could cause it to flicker, IF that looks good and tight, try to pull it apart and check for melted pins, There are body grounds for each headlight on the core support. You can try to install a jumper from the Neg battery to the P/S headlight ground. If all that fails then I would try a new switch. I had a headlight plug go bad and made it flicker .. but was only one side that blinked. I take it they flicker / blink both at the same time.

 

OFF-You are correct, they both flicker at the same time, randomly.....And even when the truck is shut off, parked....

I would replace the headlight switch and then get a pair of relays for the headlights.

 

also plan on repalcing the main light switch pigtail as well they were really common to burn /melt in the middle

The relays take the load off the headlight switch, so it don't go out in another 25,000 miles.. Plus they say it makes the headlights a little brighter...

 

Ahhh, I see....I thought they made them a smidge brighter....wasn't sure though....

Hmmmm.....I have the Sylvania Silverstars as is....So the relays will make them BRIGHTER?

Seems to be a heat thing....I turn the lights on, they are fine for a minute or so....Then they heat up, they flicker....Lettem cool, they're fine...Till they heat up again....Any suggestions?

Sounds more and more like the switch...did you ever replace it?

Corroded, pitted, or arced contacts can heat up due to the high resistance they provide, which could cause a momentary loss of contact.
