Scangauge normal readings 6.0 Xgauge

Hi, I would like to know if some of you has started a file or list on what would be "normal readings" from the scangauge for our 6.0. That would be very interesting to monitor our engine, what a wonderful toy this Xgauge. Next year I am planning a trip to Alaska, in the middle of nowhere, I can tell if someting starts to go wrong and get it fix before it happen.

For example, not much now, but for mine:

ICP = 600 at iddle
1300 at 60 MPH
EOT = 180
CVI: 5.00
Water temp: 183
FMP: 47.5 to 48

whats your ipr at hot idle
mines right at 22 percent duty cycle anything over 30 percent and you have hpo problem

and for ect vs eot you need to take the spread when coolant and oil temps are at there STEADY MAX the numbers you have didnt look like you got it all the way up to temp
or you need a new thermistate

I noticed up north my engine runs a bit cooler. Down south, it was around 190. I do not have all the xgauges installed yet and did not take all my readings.

that thermistate should hold it at around 190 unless your climbing a hill or pulling a traileer making it work alittle and then it should only get hotter

and uasually the eot is hotter than the ect at STEADY MAX

I would love to see some "Techs" chime in with what "they" want to see in a "normal" Reading for these gauges. And maybe some readings that we don't want to see.

I drive the same stretch of I-205 in Oregon on the way home everyday.

My ECT runs 188-191

EOT runs 194-197

TFT runs about 155-158

If you go through that video I did, you can see a lot of my readings, which were right at 60 MPH. At the beginning it wasn't all the way up to temp. At the end you will see different readings at "hot".

Well, what I received from cheezit is a great start.

I don't think we need a lot of us showing what each of our trucks are doing at any given time. What we need , I think, is where Ford says each of our gauges "should" be reading.

I will be working on this this coming week, (some way to spend a vacation huh?)

from cheezit:

here some operating values. if you need help in sypher let me know.

this list is great
are these the rpm values we should be using to test with [there off the list]
koeo rpm= 0
low idle rpm=628
high idle rpm=2500

so the value at koeo and the value at low idle and the value at high idle should not exceed operating range measurements or the pcm will set a dtc

thanks cheezit and amdriven2liv great info

Tomorrow I'm going to get her hot and check those RPMs. See what I get. Should be close.

Then the fun begins.

Wife wants to make the truck a book of all this. She's good at it.

Below I have added to the list of Xgauges Fords specs for most of the gauges. There are a couple I may need Scangauge to look at and fix. Some are blank and I need to figure more out.

MTH: 012203200000

NAM: PSI

MAP is a standard gauge - but this XGauge is actually better than the standard one. It has a larger range which was needed because the standard gauge tops out around 37 psi absolute (about 22 lbs of boost), which diesels have no problem doing. This one should read well beyond 22lbs of boost.

With a little tweaking you can adjust this to read boost as you said.

To do this, just plug in the MAP code - get a reading from it with the key in the on position but the engine off, then based on the reading changed the last 4 digits of the MTH to whatever corresponds to your reading on this table

14.0 -- FF74

14.1 -- FF73

14.2 -- FF72

14.3 -- FF71

14.4 -- FF70

14.5 -- FF6F

14.6 -- FF6E

14.7 -- FF6D

14.8 -- FF6C

14.9 -- FF6B

15.0 -- FF6A

So, for example if you got a reading of 14.5 PSI with key on engine off you'd change the MTH to 01220320FF6F and the reading should read 0.0 with key on engine off and would then show how many lbs of boost you were at when the vehicle is running.

Yes I will. Thanks.

As you can see I have a few blank, but a good start I think.

Wow, I was away for 3 days, this is all great stuff, this Xgauge can be a real preventive maintenance tool.
Many Thanks
