F-150 recall 2004-2006

Yeah I took my dad's truck in today. Waited way too long just to have them start working on it. Yeah needless to say, I won't be bringing mine in. I'm not an idiot and I'll take it in if the airbag light ever comes on. No offense Homer, I just don't like the dealership. This is another skeem by the government anyhow to make Ford look bad.

I don't want to get into it but you know the government practically owns GM right? That alone says it all. But to each their own.
I wanted to show any of you that haven't had it done yet what wires they are replacing. Not major work at all.
I believe it's the wires that #4 is pointing to. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I do like the idea that they're making a profit off that investment though.

Well, as I said before, I don't think the the pres. wants Ford to fail. But it is in his party's best interest for GM to do very well. There are only so many cars to sell, so who do you think they want to see on top? Use some sense.
And yes they did file for the first initial public offering of Gm stock, but most economists believe it is not likely the taxpayers will ever see a profit on that stock. It would have to be worth a total of 67 billion dollars. Not likely. And even if they do turn a profit, it is not coming back to the taxpayers, you can be sure it's going to the unions.

Today I did a couple recalls on the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX, reprogramming the entire My Touch system with all new software to correct a number of glitches. This was one of those recalls they werent forced to do, that I do regularly. Simply to increase customer satisfaction. Ford pays the tech 1.3 hours to do this time intensive recalibration. I suppose they could have sat on their haunches and waited for each and every customer complaint to evolve, but they elected to call them all in and just do a complete redo..
I have done some recalls on the heater system for these same vehicles too about a year ago. They recalled all of them to replace heater piping and do a complete heavy duty flush of the system with a highly toxic and acidic flushing to remove any traces of paint that may have come off the inside of poorly painted bypass tubes. This recall takes up to 6 hours per vehicle and Ford also extended the warranty to something like 7 years on the heater system.
Another was the intake manifold on the 4.6 V8. Man I replaced hundreds of them over the years and Ford extended the warranty on them for 7 years or 100000 miles.
Just a couple examples of the MANY cases of not being forced to recall vehicles and stepping up to give extra coverage without compensation.
