First impresions after driving ecoboost and 6.2
I just got back from back to back driving both. I was going to trade my 2010 platinum for the ecoboost Platinum. Salesman showed me the platinum in a limited 6.2. Wow what a nice truck. It was 4k less than a simular equiped ecoboost. The new 6.2 will blow the doors off the ecoboost hands down!! Now I cant decide-but i am now leaning to the 6.2. If you havent driven one drive one. It is way cheaper and far stronger. 4$k will buy a lot of gas!

From the perspective of engine cost alone, the 6.2 is ~$1500 more than the EB. So, the differences must come down to packaging. I would ensure that you are doing an apples to apples comparison from that perspective. If the Limited has everything you want for less overall cost, go for it.
I'm sure the 6.2 is beastly compared to the EB, but the biggest difference is likely going to be fuel economy.

For starters, I don't think those two engines were necessarily intended to serve the same purpose. Secondly, while the 6.2L has about 45 more HP, they have nearly the same torque, so I wouldn't imagine there would be such a big difference. Last and most important for the daily drivers, the Ecoboost gets about 5 mpg better mileage than the 6.2L.

I find it odd, since clearly the 6.2L is indeed a "Monster". I cannot understand how anyone would have a problem with this engine. By the way, the fuel mileage is very good. I am very impressed so far. I am averaging around 16MPG.
I love my 6.2L and would not want any other engine. I can't help but laugh when I step on it and feel the pull and the awesome roar of this engine.

Ive test driven all four of Fords new engines and finally I settled on the 5.0L V8. As it stands right now the 6.2L's a little to exclusive for my taste, and the Ecoboost though plenty powerful was (IMO) rather joyless to drive. The 3.7L was a good running engine but I test drove it more for the novelty of doing it. I never considered it a viable option in my next purchase. After my test drive's I decided that the 5.0L is the way to go for me.
But back on topic.
I've heard this more than once...See, when I first test drove these new trucks, I thought that perhaps I would be in a minority finding the Ecoboost to be ''joyless'' I mean who couldn't love 420lb/ft of torque and 365hp right? Well, as time goes by I am comming across more people who find the the 5.0L and 6.2L the more attractive option simply because they are me enthusiastic sounding. During my test drive I felt as though the 5.0L and Ecoboost were on pretty level ground (In terms of power and how they drove) Except as to were the Ecoboost sounded like a Vaccum cleaner, the 5.0L and 6.2L had that deep bassy V8 burble many of us love. Between the 5.0L and Ecoboost I think for the most part fuel econmy will be a wash. I've heard pretty high claims from owners of both engines, so I think with all things equal they will be pretty close.
I guess the main reason I didn't get a 6.2L is because I couldn't get it in the configuration I want. Had Ford made it availible in an FX4 Extended Cab...Well, I would have a really REALLY tough decision on my hands between the 5.0L and 6.2L but as it stands now, the 5.0L without a doubt the way I wanna go.

I ended up going Diesel but hey the 6.2 would destroy the diesel and pull anything I will ever pull. You post above is correct noone talks about the 6.2. Even at the dealership they praise the v-6 turbo. My salesman was the only one. When we were talking he tol me-hey want to drive a beast drive the 6.2 and he was right.
