O.K. I have two things to run by yall. First while on driving with a light load I was running aoo. 2500rpm for about 2hrs. and my tansmition started to slip. If I were going up a slight hill the motor would go up 1-200 rpms. Now it still does it if I am running in 3rd or 4th gear and give her some throttle but not enough to down shift. Does mean the tranny is on the way out? Also this a.m. I went to start my truck and the starter just clicked. Just replaced starter sylinoid app 1 month ago. After a few tries she started right up. Does mean my starter is on the way out? 1996 completly stock with 140,000mi. Second owner and I have owned for almost a year and have no maint. records.....

 

That may be your torque converter locking and unlocking.......it's normal if it doesn't happen too much or too easily.
Have you checked the trans fluid level and condition? Sometimes a fluid & filter change can help.

It sounds like a new starter is in your future....but, Be sure to check the all the connections going to it first though....same for the batteries. Especially the grounds where they connect to the engine block.
