I'd run 2.5" duals no cats down the passenger side, back to a magnaflow dual 2.5" in, single 3" out muffler, and 3" tailpipe out to the stock location with a nice tip. I've done an exhaust or two

That's what I plan to do on my wife's '92 eventually, good exhaust for a normal truck!

My Lightning on the other hand has, 1-3/4" primary long tubes, 3" collector, true 3" duals out in front of both tires, man that thing isn't gonna have any torque!

I build my own exhaust from mandrel bends.

You may have a slight off-idle stumble until the computer adjusts fuel trims to compensate for being leaned out by the new exhaust, but it's nothing that it can't handle! Unhooking the battery for 30 minutes to clear out the adaptive memory will help it along faster!

My F250HD 5.8 has dual tanks and had the factory dual tailpipes that both exit on the passenger side behind the rear wheel. I just bought new Walker replacement tailpipes with chrome tips for $25 each and a Cherry Bomb Pro chambered single in/dual out muffler from Summit for like $40. The sound is great (nice deep rumble & slightly louder than stock), and I love the look (although it had to grow on me). It has a NASCAR/factory performance flavor to it. Plus, it was cheap and doesn't interfere with the spare tire or receiver hitch.

Ever heard of a joke ? Obviously they didn't change the motor for one year other then minor upgrades . Considering they made that motor for a long time.

Kinda suprising that with that small of an difference between the two engines that the 5.0l has a much wider aftermarket support . Then that's also helped by the mustangs.

With all do respect I must strongly dissagree with you.

Long, skinny runners in a header, or manifolds=Torque
Short, fat runners in a header, or manifolds=Horsepower

Also, unhooking the battery does nothing but rest the computer, after about 5 minutes of idling, it will have "Remembered" the proper way to start, and run; EFFICIENTLY.....That is the computers primary goal, start and run the engine as smoothly and efficiently as possible....When it crosses that threshold, and can't compensate, it is felt as a stumble, miss, stutter, etc...

That's fine, I will bow out of the conversation, as I don't want to get into a pissing match with anyone, but I have been there done that as far as exhaust goes! You will not make More Torque by restricting the engine on the intake or exhaust. The only exception to this is if you run a camshaft with too much duration, restricting the exhaust can "crutch" the camshaft mistake at lower RPM's. If you have a stock or very mild cam, let the ****er breathe!

I'm in agreement with the dual pipes straight out the rear. It' looks the best to me. Angled out behind the rear tires just looks tacky to me.

I dont even care if there are any added benefits to hp or anything Just want a truck that sounds a better. Then maybe ill get into the spending bug and then put some more upgrades into my truck. Gramps is sure gonna be mad when his old truck sounds louder. But then again he shouldnt of bought a dodge and sold me this beauty However idk we will have to see how it turns out with my room underneath as i read on 4x4 models it is quite tight.

And sidewinder no hard feelings just been a long couple of days and I took my feelings out on that post . However thats not a good way to do it and make friends so I apologize.
