94 4.9L with auto trans
I recently bought a 94 single cab flareside. Its got the 4.9 with an E4OD.
When I put it in drive the trans start in 3rd gear, it has a very slow take off. So I have to shift down to 2nd to get it moving, and then put it in drive. The guy I bought it from changed the trans, because he thought that was the problem, and changed a bunch off stuff on it. He told me it was the computer. The computer is not compatible with the trans. The engine sounds great, it has a nice steady idle. Does anyone know where I can see what type of computer I have and which one I need?

How do I check to see what type of computer I have? I'd be glad to look for ya but have no idea what I'm looking for.
I have pictures galore! What about you? Is your rig 2wd or 4wd? Mine's 2wd but I went for what I call a "powerwagon" look. Lifted but with a rake.

Here she is, no major plans right now, just fixing little things here and there.
Maybe a lift and some rubber. What size lift do you have? Tires?
I took off some coil compressors that it had, so it looks leveled now. Going to get the windows tinted tommorow, and I'll see if I can get the oxidized paint to shine again. As for a V8 swap, I would go with a 351 and a C6 trans but that will have to wait a while with these damn gas prices. For now I just want a nice daily driver that I can enjoy.
PS, whats your average MPG?

Bill's truck is one of the best looking on this site, IMO. It is by far one of my favorites, and I always enjoy seeing more pictures of it!
