Strange noise after shutdown.

Well I finally am getting mine fixed. Called Ford Customer Service and kept talking to the next supervisor. After the 4th one finally got someone to listen to me after saying the standard "its normal". Its somewhat humerous to listen to their reasons for the noise, most had never heard the noise and are just people there to put out fires. Good luck to all and I would say be persistant. Squeeky wheel gets most grease.

To all you guys thinking about letting it ride, take it from me, don't do it. I've got a decked out 2011 F250 that just about eats my lunch every month on the payment. I've kept up with maintenance thoroughly and mine started making this noise at about 58,000 miles and I let it ride on the advice of a few mechanics I know well. Bad decision. I now have 74,000 miles and my turbo has gone from humming to howling, and I'm sick about it. I could've fixed it for less than $200 dollars and now due to long-term reduced airflow in my turbo, despite how small the leak was... Well my turbo got too hot. It's still running ok, but the life of my turbo is very limited now and I still don't even have a check engine light. The ONLY light I have ever had is tire pressure... Man oh man. Now what?

TSB 13-10-7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just got back from the dealer to have my truck serviced and I asked about this issue. The chief mechanic has a 2011 F250 as well and his truck is doing the same thing.
He referred me to TSB 13-10-7 with lays out the issue and the troubleshooting procedure for the tech guys. He told me it is an annoyance and that his truck with 90,000 miles has been doing it for a long time.
He did show me that depressing the break after shutting off the engine will prevent to noise. The noise is happened because air is equalizing but if you depress the brake after engine shutdown you are breaking the vacuum. I've tried it multiple times today and he is correct, it does stop the sound.
I tried to find a copy of TSB 13-10-7 online but couldn't find it anywhere. If you want a copy I can e-mail it to you, unless someone can find an online link.

Update
Update Friday May 13:
Fixed!
Kudos to the boys at MedVed! Got me in and tech replaced the solenoid while I waited.
Gary, the service writer I worked with, told me the new part had (apparently) a first series part number.
Gary also advised me to keep my eye on the problem to see if it returns.
The truck is back to being its old quiet self again! Color me satisfied!
jammer

Truck now has 81k on the clock and the noise is still gone. The replacement waste gate solenoid is still performing without any complaints. (Too bad that was not the ONLY issue that I've had with this thing)

Update from the previous thread. Dealer confirmed my waste gate solenoid was bad. Parts are on order and the work is being performed under the Diesel Powertrain warranty. The mechanic said he didn't think it would cause any damage but eventually could go into limp mode when the solenoid fails.
