grrrrrr. truck dead......again

trucks been throwing cel and simultaneously loosing power and just being a dog then completely dies.....have been able to start it back up and may be fine a mile or 2-3 days until yesterday. I had to be pulled home, had the exact same symptoms (cel came on, got real doggy like it was starvin for fuel or air then died) except when I start it back, it starts then dies immiedetly after..............any ideas

pull the codes off that bad boy! Hows your battery voltage doing? what year truck? when did you last swap out your air/fuel filters? could be fungus, could be an electrical grounding issue too or a bad wire / connector.

I had an icp sensor give me fits similar to that. Try unplugging it and see if it will run!

batteries tested good. i got a code for manifold pressure and ebpv. cant remember the numbers. also I did get one the other day for cps bank 5 something or another but i did pull batts. and charge and test them underload and truck is doing the same thing but not showing that code now. I'll try unplugging the icp but believe i tried that already with same results

Replace the CPS.but get it from the dealer,about 30.00 dollars.Dont get one from the local parts store.

if you are replacing the cps try and get the grey one from international it has a stronger magnet in it. They fail less often. At least in my experience. 0.02

I thought the grey one with the purple o-ring was the upgraded one? it is not the cps. I piddled with it as much as possible and still would start then die. I took it to a mechanic that a buddy recommended who is a powerstroke guy and he has it running and going threw it for me, seems to be a intermint. loop in the ecm

what does that mean madvan, wouldnt it have thrown a code for the idm
