Electric cooling fan/shroud combo for '66?

What I did was find an electric fan w/shroud from a 1992 Ford Taurus. The shroud is just as wide as the radiator. It mounted alright. I wired it up with a relay and switch. That will be changed so it automatically comes on. I rarely used the fan while driving. That was 10 years ago. Ok, I haven't driven it the last 7 years. I am in the process of restoring/customizing it. I will use the electric fan but work on a nicer more appealing shroud. I probably will remove the electric fan from the plastic shroud and build a nice shroud out of aluminum and center it better on the radiator. If you aren't to worried about aesthetics than one of those should work just fine. Plus they are usually nice and cheap from a salvage yard. The fan had no problem drawing enough air into to cool when needed.

TexasTorando66 made a shroud out of lawn edging. Here's a pic of it in this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post10183842
looks great, I'm thinking about doing that to mine

I wanted to do it right the first time and have something that is nice to look at. I currently run dual 12" fans off a Jaguar with no shroud. With temps hitting 120 degrees here and running ac; I wanted something effective.

Hey dsrtjeeper - where did you get a CCI-1780 for only $225.00? HELP an old man save money.
I was looking at the 1740 for my 55.2 PU, but I can't get a straight answer on the width of the shroud. I think it is 24.5" (total width) and I need about 26" so I can avoid those darn Zip-ties to attach it = wanna use bolts and secure it to the Radiator Support or the Radiator's FLANGES. Thank you
FordNo1 - $25.00? what on earth did you use? Where from please? Will your fan work on my Chevy 55.2 PU or just get mad at me 'cuz it not a Ford???

To be honest; I went with an OEM Ford fan shroud off a later truck and a 7 blade clutch fan. After messing with various combos in the AZ desert heat; this combo worked the best for me with city driving and A/C.
I believe the CCI fan was from Speedway Motors but not positive.
