Oil in VC pigtails ok?

Hey all.

Does having oil in the plugs for the gp's and injectors affect anything? I am replacing my VC gaskets, the uvch's and I have some new pig tails I could solder on but I am feeling lazy and wondering if I should bother to. My original pigtails have some oil in the connections that I could get out with a little effort. Should I clean them or replace them?

What would Johnny Cash do?

If you have the parts, replace them. I hear the being lazy part, sometimes a guys that way, but I wouldn't cut corners here.

I'd clean them myself. With new valve cover gaskets and UVCH's you should be good to go. I don't like the idea of cutting/soldering the OEM harness but to each his own.

thanks for the replies. I am somewhere in the middle between lazy/not wanting to cut into the harness, and just replacing them for piece of mine. I'll most likely replace them. Or at least the oiled up ones.

thanks

Why is a solder connection bad?

OP
Oil in the connector can coke from the heat of the gp load.

Its not, I would just rather not have to cut/solder the factory harness if it doesn't need it.

thanks madvan I didn't think about that. It's not burned in there tho. Just a little oil in it I can clean out. I think I'll just replace.
