Head Gaskets in North Carolina

Is there anyone in North Carolina that you can recommend to do a Head Gasket job around Raleigh NC?? my truck is loosing a little coolant and has the white residue around the degas tank so I am sure that it is time.. truck runs absolutely perfect though.. i had the egr cooler deleted last summer and a new oil cooler installed at that time.. looking for someone other than the dealership.. Thanks

Met a guy who owns a Diesel Shop in Raleigh. Seemed pretty cool. I have not needed any work done that I couldn't do, but seemed like a good dude and had a pristine '04, meticulously maintained. So that was a good sign.

I don't recall the name but PM me if interested and I will look for his business card tomorrow. FYI, no affiliation - met him when shopping for an enclosed car trailer, his friend was selling one.

If you're in North Carolina there's no one else to go see other than Scott. I'm driving from the Arkansas/Oklahoma border in Sept. for him to work on my truck.

IMO use the OEM head gaskets and pass on the Black Onyx.

Black onyx head gaskets will be fine... I have a somewhat large build truck and that is what was used and no problems... are you gonna get arps? do the banjo bolt mod and a reg return... the spring I do not know about where to get I have a full fuel system in mine...

I have heard that the Black Onyx gaskets are harder to position due to the coating. As in most things - if properly done, I am sure they are fine. It seems to all depend on the quality of the installation job ....
