Speed Density ?

So while reading I have heard a lot about pick 2 of this or that. My question is can I do heads cam and headers on speed density. I was planning on getting the sd freindly comp cam and gt40p heads with the ford racing shorties for the plug clearance. And what kind of compression ratio am I looking at with stock bottom end build and the 40p heads?

The P heads will produce about 9.3 to 9.4 CR depending if it's the 5.0 or 5.8. and yes this will run on SD with the right cam.

What cam do you recommend and all the cams I have seen have a different firing order than my truck. Will this be a problem? I know I can wire it to the firing order of the cam but will the rest of the engine accomodate an H.O. firing order?

Firing order doesn't matter with SD.
What year is your truck?

It is a 92 4x4 already has true duals plan on doing an x pipe as well. My firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 and the cam is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Good luck fitting an X pipe under a 4x4.

The cam I'd suggest for that motor is the Comp Cams 35-512-8

Will I just redo my injector plugs and wire it from the distributor to the firing order of the cam? I am in Kuwait right now and am kind of running blind right now without the truck in front of me. Trying to ship all this stuff to the house around the same time so I will only get one chewing out instead of one everytime my wife has to sign for a new box.

No injector rewiring necessary, just route the plug wires for the HO firing order.

I noticed that cam is for roller rockers. How much do they cost and what is involved in studding a head. Where is a good place to look for the rockers and do you happen to have a part number for those as well. It says recommended 1.6 rockers.

No that is a roller cam which is what your motor should already have, so no additional parts necessary to install it. Roller rockers are an upgrade from the sled fulcrum type that comes stock on these motors but it's not much of an upgrade if you keep the same ratio, and I don't recommend you go to 1.7 rockers with this cam.

ok so with this cam the gt40p heads and headers the speed density should still work.

will I use the stock pushrods that run on my E7 heads or the pushrods for the gt40p heads and what is studding the heads and how will I do that.

Stock pushrods will work, and you don't want to or need to "stud the heads", it's a lot of expense for no real gain.

ok Thanks for all of your help and I have read that the mustang shorties do not line up exactly right with the trucks Y pipe but will it be close enough for me to drive it to a muffler shop?
