C6 to E4OD Diesel Transmission/E4od input torque?

Id like to put an e4od into my 78 f250, it has a built 521 ci v8 making close to 550 to 600 ft lbs of torque. I was thinking since the stock c6 is worn out that Id like to put a E4od on there, im sure the diesel version will handle it because the diesels make around 500 ft lbs. But if you know the input ratings id like to here what you know....Also what would it take to control that tranny? Its electronically controlled. Is there an easy way to hook it up and make it work with an old non-computerized engine? Or can i get some sort of hydraulic controlled or manual valve body for it?

The Diesel E4OD will bolt to a big block ford, just the diesel version has a few sturdier internal parts.

Thanks

The diesel E4OD will only bolt onto a diesel. There are E4OD's for 460/7.5l and small block engines. E4OD electronic controls are available aftermarket.

They are all the same bellhousings (big block ford and 7.3 diesel), the difference between the diesel trannys and gas is that the gas tranny has a 4 gear planet ring and the diesel tranny has a 6 gear planet ring. Thanks any ways

I dont know of any manual valve body for those but here is a stand alone controller, The OptiShift Transmission Control System. There are others out there, just Google E40D transmission controller.

I dont know the input ratings sorry.
