looking for easier/better towing

Well I got tired of job searching so I'm getting into the scrap business. I'm buying trucks and cars (small ones) and paying minum or taking random scrap for free.. I finally got a class 3 hitch on my 96 F150 4x2 302/M5OD.
So far all I pull is a single axel 12 ft trailer. But I have a 16 or 18 (I forget) ft I'll pull sometimes..
I know the M5 isn't good for towing but I can't afford a ZF right now so I'll just deal with it. Plus a zf and a 302 doesn't go together well if you ask me.

BUTTT on to my question(s)
Has anyone swapped in F250rear springs, or some kind of junkyard stuff on a 150? To make it tow better? I know I need to rebuild my rear end but I don't have time or money right now.

I really don't wanna put a lot of money into making it tow great because as soon as I'm out of high school and I have the cash I'm gonna upgrade F250 with a diesel or a 460.

I have put e-350 rear springs on a 79 F150. They were off of an ambulance. I did get front and rear hangers with shackles all together. If I remember correctly, I lined up the front hangers and two bolt holes lined up. I put those in and drilled new holes for the rest. The rear hanger had to have all holes drilled. Like I said though it was a 79 and I don't know what year the ambulance was but I know for sure it was at least and 87.

All I had to buy was new U-Bolts.

I just reread your original post, missed the 4x2 part. I was thinking it 4x4 sorry. Although, with all new hangers, it wouldn't take much for the swap I wouldn't think. My 79 still had rivets. A chisel and a BFH took care of them though.

I'm thinking of just getting air shocks with over load springs on'em... They're only bout 50 bucks a set and they'll hold me over until I find a 250 I guess...
