IAT sensor wire colors
I have a 1996 F150 inline six. 5 speed. Im trying to put on a performance chip thing i got offline. It worked for my buddy so i figured id give it a shot. BUT the issue is that im not sure what wires to clip it on to. the install guide says to ID which wires on the MAF are the IAT wires and clip it on them. So basically im asking what color wires are the IAT wires? Out of all the research ive done i cant find anything on the color wires. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I am not certain if the IAT is actually built into the MAF sensor itself. I was under the impression the IAT (or ACT as others call it) was mounted in the air box or perhaps on the air tube. I do not an EVTM for a 1996, so I am not able to look it up for you.
BTW..that link does not work...

No reason to feel stupid, this is a place to learn. I was shooting into the shadows of darkness hoping to hit a target. Looks like my gamble worked. Now we both know where the IAT/ACT is located!
FWIW a lot of later model vehicles do have integrated MAF/IAT sensors, I was reasonably sure this vintage vehicle did not.

My 1994 Explorer EVTM shows the IAT sensor is located on the intake manifold. Very similar to the F-series trucks.

Personally I think those chips are worthless. Electrically it advances the timing and tricks the PCM into dumping in more fuel. Do not fool around with the factory tune on a forced induction engine. You may be in for a wallet biopsy. You would be MUCH better off with a real custom tune.
