Enable the Keypad in 05 Expedition VSM
I just figured out all the hardware to add the keyless entry keypad to my 05 Expedition. The harness was in the door and the code was printed on the GEM as I suspected. However, there is no power or data flowing to the keypad. From my research, this means that the keypad needs to be enabled in the VSM using IDS.
In an effort to reduce labor costs at the dealership to have this done, I was hoping that someone could post or send me the procedure. I am pretty pessimistic about dealership service departments, so I would like to have the instructions so I can just tell them what to do with it.

There are a number of fuses in the BJB and the CJB that feed power to the Central Security Module in my old 2002 Navigator. I don't know how the keypads are driven in the newer vehicles, but you might want to check that your 2005 has all the proper fuses in place.
