Got these from the newer style ford truck, a 98 f150 single cab if I'm not mistaken. and got them into my 92 f150 extended cab. Had to drill all new holes but it was okay! What yall think?

there have been others that have done this mod... you can take the metal frame off the old seats and bolt the new seats onto the old fram in order to use newer seats... The old frame would need modification (extra metal and mig welder required).

Now all you need to do is get rid of the rest of that nasty blue color! LOL... I really shouldn't talk... Mine is red!

And Yeah I had to drill all 8 new holes for them to work. And ive done research and came up with no pics of this so I didn't know it had been. Didnt need a welder just drill 8 new holes for the new brackets to go in place.

And I actually like my blue interior lol reds also nice! Grey is too ordinary and more common

Well I actually have a gray 40/20/40 captains chairs in my 88 F250 w/ red interior. There was a post a while back where a guy modified the original seat frame to allow newer seats to be bolted to it... I can't remember what the frame was called though...

As for the color looking like **** like Brad said... Well it doesn't exactly look good but if Josed87 is anything like me, he put the seat in for comfort not good looks.

Lastly... Grey too common??? It took me forever to find my 40/20/40 seats in grey! I was going to do a interior swap because the red and blue aren't my personal favorite. When I started looking I couldn't find anything but blue and red interiors...

Yeah that old bench seat was getting on my nerves. Wasnt comfortable at all and no cup holders drove me insane. And if your in the truck it doesnt look bad at all. But everyone has their opinion. And maybe there just common where I live. Cuz every truck at the junk yard had no seats but you can tell they were grey due to the inside trim. Had NO luck finding any blue seats locally. And these seats with no rips or stains only cost me 25 bucks! So I'm not complaining! Love the fact that I can recline it and move it by itself. But of course I would have preferred to find blue ones, but had no luck, so I just worked with what I could get!

those are worth every penny of $25!

Here's how I got mine....
'
Junk yard guy says $150 for a full bench seat... I asked for 1/2 price on a seat in a truck that had been t-boned into a powerline... thus pinching it shut at both doors. He said sure but you can't use a torch or power saw... I laughed and said fine....

20 mins later I pulled up with the seat in the back of my truck and laid $75 on the table for him... He stopped me and was like WTF!!! how'd you get that out...

I told him he parked it by a tree making it easy for me to use a hole saw in each door. Looped a log chain around the door on one side an onto the tree... the other door got chained to my bumper as I put it in 4x4 and granny low and tore those doors right off...

I got a question for the OP, can you still easily get to the back seat? I really wanna do a swap like this, but need to be able to get to the back seat.

I prefer the 40/20/40 that fits these years trucks. Very comfy and no cut/weld/drill/glue required.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If not, that seat is not gonna stay put in an accident.

I think we all do, but it's nearly impossible for some of us to find these trucks in the junkyards to get mech. parts from, let alone XLT and Eddie Baur models with those seats...

The only thing I don't like about the 40-20-40 I have is that I loose stuff between the seats way to often and it's a pain to dig it out.

As long as we are talking seats here... has anyone had problems with their lumbar bag not inflating???? My pump sounds like it runs but doesn't inflate either bag. I need to tear the seat out and fix one of the cables in the back of the seat anyhow... Figured I'll fix it all at the same time...
