You're making me want to do the 4x4 conversion on my truck so bad! Trying to come across a donor truck for the swap though...

I'm in Plymouth MA, America's Hometown I'm not talking about the entire hub/cap, just the little plastic hub center on the rears. I'm pretty sure they can be removed and the hubs/caps that go around the manual 4wd hubs are exactly the same without the little plastic cap.

Ok...

I'm sure shipping wouldn't be an issue then...

let me mull it over, and I'll let ya know...

yes those "plastic things" can be removed, and are small enough to toss in a USPS medium shipping box (square one) and send off...i already lost one (think it came off on the road some place) and need to replace the things anyways...

Wes, how rusty was the front of the front axle cause it looks like you got it down to bare metal. What did you do just wire wheel it?

Wow.. THAT'S cheap. I'll check with my local junkyards on the D44. A LS rear would be nice, too. Not sure how hard those are to come by though.

For some reason, the paint just came right off on the "Live" side....So what you saw in bare metal, was all that actually went that far...

The rest just went past the rust to good solid metal.....Then painted it, and called it even...

Check around...You'll be looking for a door code of H9=3.55 LS rear gear (4x4's have a numerically lower gear...3.55 rear, 3.54 front..)

Any door jamb sticker than has the H in the axle code, is a LS unit...

As for the actual differential tag...3L55 is the ticket...Or any that has a L in the numerical sequence....It'll be the lower set of numbers, next to the bolt holding it down...

Purrfect now I think while Ashlee is still 2wd I'll swap in the h45 instead of the 3.55 non ls Just for that little bit extra torque behind the 6 cylinder lol

Michelle Update 6-26-2012

Ok guys....2 months...Plenty of work has been done...Here goes...

First off, I have ordered-

New shocks, Axle Pivot & Radius Arm Bushings, replaced both fuel pump strainers....

Here's some pics...

And here's some other things I've done...

Cleaned the rims up nice...

And added a Powerstroke Diesel Bumper...$30...

Just gotta put the D/S Spindle back on, and get the Axle Pivot Bushings pressed in, and the Differential is DONE....

Here's other things I've been fixing...

-Front Fuel Pump, Strainer, etc...

And here's the new Strainer...

And here's what I did for the rear tank....Same thing...Replaced the strainer...

But here's what I found...

The strainer literally fell off as the pump came out...

Made a new Differential Seal...

Couldnt help but to notice you didnt put the lower bumper valance from your old bumper(Lightning looking one) on your new bumper. Would you be willing to part with it or are you gonna put it on the new one?
