I have some airplane like hood ornament on my merc. I got it rechromed I think it was a PO idea. it looks alright not sure If i'll put it back on or not. It's on my avatar. I'll attempt to post pics later.
Has anyone used one of these or something similar on a truck? I snagged this one and was wondering how it might look on my 49 F-1.
This is 1953 only. 1951 (has a clear plastic insert) is one year only as is 1952 & 1954. They all look similar. 1955 is also one year only, the last year of the "Jet" and is massive compared to 1951/54.
Ford ornaments will an ID number on the underside (where the emblem mounts to the hood). Similar to this: BAC-16800-A.
Some people confuse these various styles of Ford "Jet" hood ornaments with the (1949/early 1950) Olds "Rocket" hood ornament.
Oldsmobile's are marked on the underside: GM w/a 7 digit part number.
