Another no start WITH A TWIST!!!

Ok guys got another no start. It cranks super slow. Batteries are not even 6 months old and new starter and all that.

This is my problem other than not starting.

This pic is the wire that goes from the ground on the battery to the fender well to the voltage regulator. The wire melted.

Will this cause a slow crank and no start problem that I am having?

sorry for the crappy pic it was getting dark outside.

Wires not connected often cause weird issues. Get it connected back up and see what happens.

Charge your batteries and make sure the are fully-charged.

Then go around, loosen all your electrical connections and wire-brush/sand/file them for clean surfaces.
You'd be surprised with the difference whent he second battery on my truck actually received a good connection thru the second battery terminal. It seems like some ding-dong mechanic (ME!) didn't tighten it last time....

I don't think that wire will have anything to do with starting.
Starting the truck means supplying 12v of power to the starter solenoid (mounted on the inner fender). This sends power from the batteries down the starter.
It's incredibly simple, the voltage regulator will be involved in charging...not starting

Maybe thats the reason his 6 month batteries are dead - cause the VR isn't hooked up right.

That wire is probably melted because the engine ground is bad. The starter is drawing current through that little fender ground. I would find another spot for the engine ground....or grounds. Maybe add another heavy guage strap somewhere.

ill get it hooked up as soon as i can parts stores are closed right now. Im probly going to just get rid of the plug in and maybe put in fuesable link cause I doubt I will be able to find a new plug with a pigtail anywhere new. All the connetions have been wire brushed.
