Talking The newest addition to the chapter: 97ps

Please give a welcome to the newest addition to the chapter : 97ps

He's got a question over in the 6.0 forum if anybody can help out:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...g-coolant.html

I don't know anything about the 6.0's, but it doesn't sound too good.

Welcome to the chapter! I don't know much about the 6.oh! either......but when my ole 7.3 started puking out the cap it was because I popped a head gasket.

Ain't exactly running a stock truck is he? If he's deleted the EGR cooler and head-studded, I'd agree that the cap is suspect. It's possible a head gasket is going/gone south. If the studs weren't installed properly...it has happened to a couple of guys.

Granted I've only had experience with GM diesels, but that's been enough to sour me on the whole oil-burner lifestyle.
OTOH, lately I'm not likin' Mercedes gas burners any more than I like the diesels, so I guess it cancels out.
Maybe I just need to retire.

Wally, I love my Mercedes diesels, they are the simplest engine I have dealt with. The MB gassers though..... I too would run like hell

Thanks for the welcome, I GOT MY 6.0 repaired, it was a head again but this time I had it done right by possibly the best mechanic in USA and he's in Ark. as well. Also as much as I do like my Super Duty's (all 7 of em) my first love is early Bronco's, I have 2 ( 68 and73) and my son & I have a 76 that he is currently doing a frame off restoration

Glad you got it going, regardless of what some say the 6.0L isn't as bad as the 6.4L

I also have an 08 F350 with a 6.4 that had only 15k miles when I got it in Feb. this year. I immediately ordered an EGR delete and complete new exhaust with 450RWHP program from RCD and did all the work myself. I am very impressed with this truck, most powerful rig I have and gets almost 20 mpg on highway. Pretty good for a 4x4 dually with 4.10 gears. Only has 22k on it now but so far no problems.

I've heard from a couple of guys that if you get rid of all the EPA crap the 6.4L is a pretty good truck. But of course you've deemed it for "off road use only" as well

Feel welcome to swing by our monthly BS thread. Just like this one, it's low key and just about anything goes....case in point, some clown uploaded a photo of a Dodge there yesterday

If a clown uploaded said picture, what does that make the owner of said truck in said picture from last months said thread?
