crazed you have been killin it.... your commin along nicely. you need to get an old parachute and a good diesel heater and work on that rig through the winter. ha ha i had a buddy that worked in canada a few years and thats what they would do. he said they would have bbqs in there it would get so toasty... your makin headway for sure. your motor mounts turned out swell. i used the existing two wheel drive cross member so ous are a little different but basicly are the same. throw up some picks of your hydroboost when ya get a sec. i would like to see how it turned out... looks like your welder is treating you well.... and i think its time you start buddying up with someone who has shop space...

the 1980 on up front dana 60's will need to have the springs mounted outboard the frame instead of under it. because the pumpkin is moved towards the drivers side more then the 78-79 kingpin. in my opinion is if you have factory 4x4 a 78-79 axle would be a better choice as it's direct bolt in downside is they are rare and pricey. if you are converting to 4x4 from a 2wd then it's up in the air as either way you need to fab up mounts for springs anyways. comes down to cost parts availability time put in may be the deciding factor which way to go. highntight be my guest if you ever wanna throw some pics up in my thread i dont think its a bad idea if this thread had pics of someone with your front setup in it. would help the 2wd guys get more motivation and ideas.

got some spare time so i'll post up my hydroboost setup it's out of a 2006 dodge ram cummins i need a master cylinder for it but everything should fit up no problem the brake pedal doesn't quite match up with the shaft i'm thinking about cutting off the top of the rod and threading it and putting a heim joint on it and it should work great what do you think? i still need to post up my PS swap and intercooler fitting i'm practicing using my TIG spool gun setup for my welder. its my first time using a spool gun TIG setup and i'm welding aluminum man it's tricky. got to get decent so i can weld the top 2 tabs on the intercooler so i can make the bracket on the core support to hang it by.

Ya that might be a good idea. I'll post some up. And I think a heim would be perfect. I wish I would thought of that. I pretty much cut and threaded mine and used a long adjuster nut ode say inch and a half long and welded one side so it gave me about 1 inch adjustment. 1/2 inch ether way I guess would be a better way to put it. I'll see if I have any pics. That's funny I also used the hydro boost out of 05 or 06 dodge. I welded a backing plate off the back and front side of my pedals just for future of the fire wall. It already had support but I figured more couldn't hurt. I plan on having this truck forever.... If I don't destroy it first...

i woukld say the spring sits just out side of center of the out side of the frame....

the bracket between the frame and the outer support on the ends of the front spring hanger is going to be my bumper mounts, they bolt from the inside of the frame. and the other bolts go all the way through to the outer support.

the 2 inch square tube in the center is just another tie in point for the bumper. there will be a hitch receiver incorporated in the front bumper. i wanted to tie it together in the center in case i ever have to pull something with any weight.

Are you talking about the length from spring eye to eye? If so I think my front springs were 56" long and the axle pin location was in the middle of the spring. Not offset like the rear springs are. That length I am going by memory so I could be wrong. You could always call skyjacker or whoever you want for springs and they will be able to tell you what there measurements are. Don't forget the springs will flatten some with weight on them.

Highntight awesome pics anytime you want post some. Like how you boxed in the mounts on the outside of the frame. I want to do something to my front yet with a hitch and bumper mount. I have to save for a clutch and hydro set once I do I'll mount that. Got a pic of your brake mount at firewall? I been thinking of re in forcing the brake even though it bolts up to the pedal support nicely
