Improving Bottom End

My 79 f150 with a 460 that has a 460 that has always had plenty of power; however, when I rebuilt the transmission, I made it a point to put a lower stall torque converter to help the tranny remain cooler when piddling around on trails as I have always had a transmission overheating problem. This lower stall torque converter has made my truck to where I can stall out the 460 if I get the truck in a bind in the mud or what have you, if the truck is in high end. This is not true in low, for obvious reasons. If the truck is in high end it will spin the crap out of the tires as long as you get the motor above like 1800 rpm before you tear off through the mud hole.

So basically I need to make this motor have more low end.

here is what I have,
670 Truck Avenger
Torker intake (the old one not the torker 2)
D0VE-C heads
stock manifolds.
And that is all I know about the current set up.

I was thinking about swapping on a weiand stealth intake, and dropping in an extreme 4x4 cam.

Just give your input as to what would make this motor perform better include cam specs if your knowledgeable on the subject, thanks.
