Sorry man, happy to have you on here. Welcome. There's no shortage of opinions on this site, all are well meaning though.

Just an FYI, I can't imagine spending $2500 on a flathead engine in any running but unknown wear or other condition. My local flathead rebuilder here in Salt Lake can get you a complete stock rebuilt flathead v8 in your hands for $2500.

It's a tough call on the truck though, you would have to find the right person (close by too) looking for a big truck, and they never bring the money the smaller trucks do. shipping is usually not an option either.

you could always swap the body and engine onto a donor 1/2 ton truck where it would be easier for you to keep and still have "dads" truck ??

good luck with whichever route you need to take.

Josh

Edit
btw I checked out your website, those are some really neat trailers/lifts, I need one of those!

thanks for the input on the truck and as for the lift trailers, occasionally we have demo units that sell for a tad less..... just so you know. : )

Load that truck up on one of those demo units and bring it to salt lake, I have a corner of one of the flower gardens that's not filled with truckS or parts... cheers. Josh

You say the hoist was never used and it is in working condition? Many would love to have a flatbed dump.
